AltNet is a social network built around the identities players create inside online games. Instead of treating a game character as a separate profile that only exists inside one game client, AltNet brings character information, public activity, social posts, and player discovery into one place.

Connected game identities

Players can connect supported game characters through the game provider’s official authorization flow. AltNet uses those connections to associate characters with an AltNet account and to display supported character information without asking for a game-account password.

Profiles built around players and characters

An AltNet profile can represent the player while also showing connected game identities. Character pages can surface game-specific information and activity, while the main AltNet profile provides a consistent place for social posts and account-level identity.

Activity and social feeds

AltNet combines social posts with supported in-game activity so players can keep up with the people and characters they care about. Home is designed as a personalized feed, while Discover provides public activity and posts that can be browsed without first building a following list.

Search and game-data browsing

Search is designed to work as more than a text box. For supported games, AltNet can expose structured browsing tools alongside direct search. With EVE Online, that includes market and item categories as well as universe locations such as regions, constellations, and solar systems.

Privacy and control

AltNet provides controls for account privacy, connected characters, blocking, reporting, and account deletion. Game integrations may also include game-specific privacy controls where appropriate. Public content and social features are separated from account-management and authorization flows.

Optional Supporter subscription

AltNet Supporter is an optional subscription that helps cover operating costs and removes supported feed advertising. It does not place supported game data, user content, or core AltNet functionality behind a real-money paywall.

AltNet is being developed as a multi-game platform. EVE Online is the first supported game, with the underlying profile, identity, feed, and search systems designed to support additional games over time.
