These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AltNet mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by AltNet LLC (“AltNet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
For purposes of these Terms:
- “Supported Games” means games and related game services that AltNet supports or integrates with.
- “Game Providers” means the developers, publishers, operators, licensors, and/or rights holders associated with Supported Games.
- “User Content” means content that users submit to AltNet, such as posts, comments, profile information, and uploaded images.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally permitted to use the Services and to enter into these Terms. AltNet is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or for children who have not reached the minimum age required to use an online service without parental consent under applicable law.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, for maintaining the security of your AltNet account and devices, and for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by circumstances outside your reasonable control.
You may not sell, transfer, impersonate, or misuse an AltNet account or another person’s game character. You must not attempt to claim or connect a game character that you are not authorized to use.
2. Supported Games and connected characters
AltNet may allow you to connect characters from Supported Games through official authorization systems made available by the applicable Game Provider.
When you authorize a connection, you permit AltNet to access the information and permissions you approve as reasonably necessary to provide the connected features. AltNet does not ask for your password for a Supported Game.
Your relationship with a Game Provider is governed by that provider’s own terms, policies, and account rules. AltNet does not control the availability, accuracy, completeness, or continued operation of third-party authorization systems, APIs, or game data.
AltNet may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue a game integration when reasonably necessary for security, technical, legal, licensing, operational, or product reasons.
3. User Content
You retain ownership of User Content that you create and submit to AltNet, subject to any rights belonging to third parties.
You grant AltNet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, transmit, and otherwise use your User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, moderate, and improve the Services.
This license lasts for as long as the User Content remains available through the Services and for a reasonable period afterward where copies must be retained for backup, security, legal, moderation, or technical purposes. Account deletion and User Content removal are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your User Content and that your content and conduct comply with these Terms and the Community Rules.
4. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the Services to:
- violate applicable law or infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- harass, threaten, exploit, stalk, dox, defraud, or impersonate another person;
- post illegal, malicious, deceptive, sexually exploitative, or otherwise prohibited content;
- distribute malware, probe or exploit vulnerabilities, disrupt the Services, bypass access controls or rate limits, or attempt unauthorized access;
- scrape, automate, or interact with the Services in an abusive manner;
- manipulate engagement, reports, follows, subscriptions, advertising, or game-linked information through deceptive or unauthorized means;
- misrepresent your relationship with AltNet, a Game Provider, or another person; or
- use AltNet in a way that causes or encourages another person to violate a Game Provider’s rules.
5. Moderation, reporting, and blocking
AltNet provides reporting and blocking tools and may review content or conduct that may violate these Terms or the Community Rules.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or take other reasonable action to protect users, AltNet, Game Providers, or third parties. We are not required to monitor every piece of content and cannot guarantee that all objectionable content will be identified immediately.
Blocking affects applicable AltNet social content and interactions. It does not erase or alter underlying game information that exists independently of AltNet.
6. AltNet Supporter and other purchases
AltNet may offer an optional auto-renewable subscription called AltNet Supporter. While active, AltNet Supporter removes supported feed advertising from the eligible signed-in AltNet account. Any additional benefits will be described before purchase.
AltNet Supporter is an optional subscription that helps cover AltNet’s operating costs. AltNet Supporter does not place Supported Game data, game-related content, User Content, or core AltNet functionality behind a real-money paywall. Users may access that content and functionality without purchasing AltNet Supporter. The current Supporter benefit is removal of supported feed advertising while the subscription is active.
On Apple platforms, payment is processed through the App Store and charged to your Apple Account. Pricing may vary by storefront, currency, taxes, and other platform factors. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple before the applicable renewal.
If you cancel an active subscription, eligible benefits generally remain available until the end of the current paid subscription period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through Apple’s subscription-management interface.
Restore Purchases may be used to re-check eligible App Store purchases. Access to subscription benefits is subject to successful purchase verification and association with the applicable AltNet account.
Deleting your AltNet account does not automatically cancel an auto-renewable subscription billed by Apple or another external payment platform. You are responsible for managing or canceling the subscription through the platform that bills you.
7. Advertising
Users without an applicable ad-free entitlement may see third-party advertisements. Advertising availability, relevance, fill, and presentation may vary.
You may not fraudulently interact with advertisements or attempt to manipulate advertising, attribution, consent, or measurement systems.
8. Third-party services and Game Providers
Parts of AltNet depend on third-party services, including infrastructure, authentication, communications, advertising, payment and subscription processing, and Game Provider systems.
Those third parties operate independently from AltNet and may have their own terms and privacy policies. AltNet is not responsible for third-party products or services that we do not control.
Game-specific terms, attribution, intellectual-property notices, and integration information may be provided in our Game & Third-Party Notices.
9. Intellectual property
AltNet’s original software, branding, design, website content, and other original materials are owned by AltNet LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of AltNet intellectual property to you.
Names, logos, imagery, game data, and other materials associated with Supported Games remain subject to the rights of their respective Game Providers and other applicable rights holders.
AltNet is an independent third-party service and does not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from Game Providers unless expressly stated otherwise.
10. Service availability and changes
We work to keep AltNet available and reliable, but the Services are provided on an “as available” basis. Features may depend on third-party systems and may occasionally be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or inaccurate.
We may update, suspend, limit, replace, or discontinue features for security, legal, licensing, technical, operational, or product reasons.
11. Account suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using AltNet at any time and may initiate deletion of your account through the in-app account-deletion control.
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms or the Community Rules, protect users or systems, comply with law, respond to security or abuse, or protect the rights of AltNet or third parties.
Deleting your AltNet account does not automatically cancel subscriptions billed by an external platform and does not require a Game Provider or other independent source to delete information that exists outside AltNet.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that Supported Game information, User Content, statistics, pricing estimates, activity, service availability, or other third-party information will always be complete, current, accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltNet LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to the Services.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your User Content, your material violation of these Terms or the Community Rules, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as AltNet, Supported Games, or applicable requirements change. When we do, we will update the effective date above.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice when required by law. Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective is subject to the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent or another form of notice.
16. General terms
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. A failure by AltNet to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms in a way that would violate law or materially impair AltNet’s rights. AltNet may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Rules, and any applicable game-specific notices or additional terms presented for a feature, form the agreement between you and AltNet concerning the Services, subject to any rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
